I really like both guys. They are both very good fighters. GSP is bigger
and taller and this may be an advantage, and may help him win. But I
really think it is 50/50. I just want to see a good fight.

I hate to see either one of those fighters lose. I thought BJ won the
first fight. But he never seems to be conditioned enough for a 5 round
war that GSP is willing to rage. Either way it will be a great fight. |

I think BJ will win and thought he won the first fight they had.

If you ask me GSP is too big and strong and he is peaking like crazy
in this part of his career. Even though BJ is the prodigy i don’t think
he will win unless he gets a submission early in the fight. |

GSP I hope. |

Amir

I think GSP will take it. |

Ya know, I think the big determining factor in this fight will be BJ's
cardio. I think it’s a tough fight to call, but if BJ's in shape, I
give him a slight advantage. If he's not in shape, and not ready to
go 4-5 rounds…then I think BJ will do some damage at first, but end
up losing. But yeah I think the biggest factor is BJ's cardio. If he
is in good shape, I think it will be hard for GSP to beat him. |

BJ Penn wins by stoppage or sub in 3 or 4. |

I'm not really sure how it will be go, but I can’t wait
for it!

Penn by submission. |
| |
 |
Joe
Lauzon
BJ round 2 submission. |

Prediction: Penn 3rd round TKO. GSP is a great athlete…but BJ’s striking
and cardio have improved so much. It’s gonna be a bad night for GSP. |

BJ Penn is a great fighter, one of the best, and will be tough to deal
with. However, St. Pierre has the size advantage and is a machine. Even
though BJ has fought bigger guys and done quite well, I don’t think
he can handle St. Pierre's athletic ability and size difference. I gotta
go with St. Pierre. |

Not sure about that fight man. Anything can happen! |

Lauzon
Penn |

My pick is GSP. I just think he’s a better all around striker and he'll
stop Penn in the 3rd.

Cub
Swanson
GSP by Decision. |
| |
 |
Rafael
Dias
I think BJ will start 100%, but don’t know if he'll do that all 5 rounds.
So I guess GSP will win by decision. |

I think you are matching up 2 of the 3 best MMA fighters on the planet,
the 3rd being Anderson Silva. I will say Penn |

Well to be blunt and honest, I think this is going to be the most exciting
fight of the year. LOL. Yeah I know it’s the beginning of the year,
but its 2 legendary heroes of their own time and BJ is the now and before.
It’s a hard one to call, but if you made me choose who I think would
win…I have to give it to Pierre. Such a strong guy and crazy conditioning,
amazing stand up and just so slick and so fast when it comes to take
downs and take down defense. I also think Penn has good stand up, but
not Pierre’s status. Just like Pierre’s BJJ is great, but not like Penn’s.
It’s going to be a great one to watch and nervous one at the same time.
I’m excited to see what’s going to happen and who’s going to come out
on top that day!!! |

While both guys are incredibly talented, I think GSP has
improved more than BJ has since their first fight, and he's shown that
he can fight five hard rounds and be as dominant in the 5th as he is
in the 1st. BJ is dangerous and it wouldn't surprise me if he beat GSP,
but I can't pick against GSP at this point in his career. GSP by UD
or late TKO. |

GSP all the way brotha....that guy works too hard. To me he’s
the winner of this fight. He’s bigger, stronger, faster, and gets better
with every fight. I just don’t see BJ beating him…he’s to small. When
you are fighting at the highest level, size always plays a factor. I
know this from experience and is one of the reasons why I dropped down
to fight at 155. |

That’s a tough fight to call. Both guys are so good. I think
that BJ is going to come into this fight ready to go, focused and in
shape. It’s going to be a close technical fight, but BJ is going to
take it with a close decision.

This is the one fight where I truly have NO CLUE as to who is
going to win. It's not like I ever know who is going to win anyways.
I mean, I KNEW the Ultimate Warrior was going to beat Hogan at Wrestlemania...but
besides that, zilch.
So my prediction is BJ Penn is going to win...unless GSP does.
TAKE THAT TO THE BANK. |

In my opinion, both Penn and Pierre are unbelievable athletes and are
two of the best fighters in the world today. I believe that it's going
to be a very close match, but in the end I see Penn coming out victorious.
B.J. Penn's Jiu-Jitsu and his overall desire to win will carry him to
the win!!

It’s never a question if GSP is ready for a fight, he and his
training camp always make sure they are well prepared. But there is
some thing different about this match up. This time it’s personal and
not for GSP but for BJ. Last fight it was just another fight for BJ,
now he has something to prove. Not just to GSP, and the fans, but to
himself. BJ feeds off of the naysayers and the unbelievers. Talented
people some times take their gifts for granted, and BJ has done that
in the past. But he has grown as a person, a fighter and as a father.
Things are a lot different
when you are fighting for your family like BJ is. To put food in your
childs mouth. Ok so enough with the sappy BS, time to get down to the
meat.
Striking: GSP has been doing martial arts since he was young, but point
sparring and standing in the pocket and trading are two different things.
Based on the last fight, and Sherk and Joe Daddy’s destruction, I give
the striking edge to BJ.
Wrestling: Although BJ is very flexible and is considered to have one
of the best takedown defenses in MMA, GSP has some of the best wrestling
in MMA. Based on the last fight and the fight with KOS, I give GSP the
advantage in the wrestling department.
BJJ/ Grappling: This is where the area gets grey. GSP was able to fend
off sub attempts by both MAYHEM Miller and Serra, so obviously his sub
defense is way up there. But on the other hand BJ is a different type
of BJJ fighter and I don’t think he can be compared to these two in
the same light. Secondly striking sets up the subs, and BJ again has
a mean-ness in him that makes his grappling in MMA nasty.
Heart/Cardio; Again a dark area, both fighters have heart, and both
fighters have Cardio (despite what Spike says). So we will have to wait
and see.
My Prediction: Although obviously bias, I think BJ wins by decision. |
