TUFF-N-UFF HITS AGAIN IN VEGAS by Brian O'Hara

TUFF-N-UFF put on yet another successful amateur event on August 8, in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Orleans Hotel and Casino. The local production has the Las Vegas amateur scene in a choke hold by featuring the best up and coming male and female competitors. Namely, number one UFC middleweight contender, Jon Fitch, competed in the first TUFF-N-UFF show back in 2003. Although he lost to UFC untouchable Georges St. Pierre at UFC 87, Fitch tied MMA legend Royce Gracie’s record for the most consecutive wins in the UFC. The Ultimate Fighter’s Rob Emerson also got his start at the first ever TUFF-N-UFF amateur event. Emerson had an impressive twelve second first round knockout over Manvel Gamburyan at UFC 87. The Las Vegas based production features some of the best amateur talent, with names that will undoubtedly appear in various professional organizations in years to come.
