EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW with DENIS KANG
By Mike Denny for MMA Sports

Denis Kang is one of the most well rounded and experienced fighters in the MMA game today and he is set to face Michael Bisping at UFC 105. We caught up with him to get his take on the fight.

Mike: What have you been up to since your fight with Xavier?
Denis: I took a much needed rest. There were some slight injuries that
I finally got a chance to work on. I also took one month training, holiday to Brazil and worked a lot of BJJ.

Mike: Your next fight is against Michael Bisping, in the UK... what are your thoughts on Mike?
Denis: Mike is a tough competitor. His only two losses are to Rashad and Dan Henderson, so I think that speaks for itself.

Mike: Do you feel comfortable fighting in front of his home crowd?
Denis: I have fought local heroes in front of their home crowd before, this will not affect me.

Mike: Do you think that even has an effect on a fight?
Denis: I think that if anything, the pressure is put on him, fighting in front of his home crowd.

Mike: How is your training going for the fight?
Denis: Great! I'm currently getting in great shape in Montreal, working with Firas Zahabi and Jon Chaimberg. I will soon go to ATT and finish the final 5 weeks there.

Mike: And how do you think this fight will end?
Denis: KO by me.

Mike: Winning this fight will probably get you pretty close to a title shot. How do you feel you match up with the current champion Anderson Silva?
Denis: I think Anderson is human and can be beaten. If the time comes for this, I would put together a good strategy for him.

Mike: Besides Bisping, is there anyone at MW in the UFC that you would like to matchup against?
Denis: Just anyone that would get me closer to the belt.

Mike: What’s the best part of being a fighter?
Denis: That you get to train all the time for a living. I'm so lucky I don’t have to go to an office every day.

Mike: If you had the chance to get one rematch from a previous fight… which would it be?
Denis: It doesn’t matter; I don’t care about my losses.

Mike: What would you say is the hardest punch you have ever landed in a fight?
Denis: When I fought Marvin Eastman last year, I leveled him pretty good with an overhand right.

Mike: Last one... if you weren’t a fighter, what would you be?
Denis: I would probably be in the army.

Mike: Alright, thanks for your time Denis… and good luck!
Denis: Thank You.
