After his successful unanimous decision win against Krzysztof Soszynski, "The Truth" Brandon Vera will head the main event at UFC 105 against MMA Legend Randy Couture.

Tony: Congratulations on your recent win over Soszynski. You must be feeling great right now?
Brandon: I wouldn't say great... a finish would have been great. But it does let me know that I am on the right path toward my goal.

Tony: Prior to the fight, did you think this might be a war?
Brandon: I knew he was going to be in shape and ready to fight. He has a lot of experience. We figured he would be prepared for any situation.

Tony: Did you do anything different then in the past getting ready for this bout?
Brandon: Not really... we focused on being a complete MMA fighter. Like Bruce Lee said "be like water my friend."

Tony: Let’s move forward to your next fight which is with Randy Couture.
Brandon: Okay.

Tony: How do you feel about a big time opponent such as Randy?
Brandon: It's kinda like what dreams are made of. It's because of Randy that I wanted to start fighting MMA; he has been my inspiration to become a great fighter. It's an honor to be fighting against him.

Tony: When I heard about this fight, I thought, this will be history in the making. This is a defining moment, Brandon... this is it! Do you think this upcoming battle between Vera and Randy will be one for the MMA history books?
Brandon: I sure hope so... Randy is the MAN. No exceptions. I want to be the man. And you know how the saying goes.

Tony: Title fight or not... this has to be the biggest fight for you. How do you feel right now going into this fight?
Brandon: I always say every fight is just as important as all the others... this one is the same. It's just special.

Tony: Given the fact that Randy just lost his last fight, do you still feel he still has more fight in him?
Brandon: Hell yes! I think Randy after a loss is harder than Randy after a win. He's a competitor and he wants to show the world he's not done yet.

Tony: Randy is a fighter with vast experience. Do you plan on doing anything different getting ready for the fight?
Brandon: No sir. Just more....

Tony: Who will be some of the guys in your training camp?
Brandon: I can tell you who was at the last one and will probably be there again. Phil Davis, Travis Brown, Arron Beech, Dominic Cruz, Big Nog, Shane Delasario, Mark Munoz, Jason Lambert... along with all of my coaches. The list at Alliance training center just goes on and on.

Tony: And how is master Lloyd Irving doing?
Brandon: Great... he's the man as well.

Tony: I really respect him and his teachings and all that he has done. He seems like a really great teacher?
Brandon: I agree wholeheartedly... he needs his own hall of fame for as much as he's done for so many people.

Tony: Do you continue to learn new things from Master Lloyd?
Brandon: Everyday... it never stops.

Tony: Right now you seem to be on a great track. Your mind is set and you're punishing everyone that gets in your way. How do you see this fight turning out?
Brandon: I'm going out there and giving my all.

Tony: Let's say, Brandon, that you do come out with the victory. Do you want the title shot or more fights?
Brandon: That my friend is up to the UFC. I know it's such a generic answer, but, my job is to fight everyone. So it doesn't matter to me.

Tony: Let's go back to your last fight with Soszynski. Did you take any time off?
Brandon: I wish... only 4 days to get back into the flow of things.

Tony: And right now your whole mentality is train hard, fight, then back to the gym for the next fight. No rest?
Brandon: Not really. I want to fight. It keeps me hungry and wanting to learn and try more things.

Tony: From the first fight you had against Fabiano Scherner to your new fight coming up against Randy, do you feel happy with all the things that have happened in your career with the UFC? This includes the ups and downs.
Brandon: Yes... I told everyone from the beginning there were going highs and lows... without the lows, I don't think I would be where I am today.

Tony: Why do you feel you are so successful in your career where others tend to fall off and get caught up with the glamorous life of being an athlete?
Brandon: Glamorous life my ass. (laughs).

Tony: (laughs)
Brandon: I have a great family, good friends and an awesome wife. They all keep me in check and help me out with everything.

Tony: And for young cats coming up into the fight game, what advice would you pass along to them?
Brandon: Don't let anything get in the way of your dreams… ANYTHING.

Tony: Thank you again Brandon for taking the time for this interview. Kick ass and Take care.
Brandon: Thank you sir. Hope all is well.
